T. Rowe Price appoints head of Asia-Pacific distribution

Elsie Chan has been appointed head of Asia-Pacific distribution at T. Rowe Price Group overseeing distribution teams based in Australia, Japan, Hong Kong and Singapore.

Ms. Chan succeeded Nick Trueman, who was named the new head of Europe, Middle East and Africa distribution, T. Rowe Price said in a Wednesday news release.

Ms. Chan, who formerly served as head of Asia ex-Japan distribution, assumed her new role on Sept. 1, and reports to Scott Keller, head of Americas, Asia Pacific and EMEA.

Under Ms. Chan’s leadership, the firm “will continue to build on and execute the multi-year growth plans set forth for Asia-Pacific, building a sustainable and diversified business to service its client base of institutional investors and financial intermediaries,” the release said.

In her new role, Ms. Chan has herself appointed a leadership team to head up the Asia ex-Japan distribution business. Glen Lee, who joined in July as head of Asia ex-Japan intermediary business, will continue to lead the intermediary distribution teams in Hong Kong and Singapore, the release noted. Sae Joon Choi was named head of Southeast Asia and Korea institutional distribution; and George Chow was named head of Greater China institutional distribution business, the release added.

A Hong Kong-based spokesman for T. Rowe Price said by email that Messrs. Choi and Chow were formerly relationship managers. “They will retain their responsibilities while leading their respective teams,” she added. Their other roles are new.

T. Rowe Price had $1.23 trillion in assets under management as of September 30.
